The following sections are step-by-step instructions for the absolute beginner on how to do the most essential things in Neopia.




HOW TO SEND MESSAGES/NEOMAIL
1. Click "Neomail" on the left-hand Neopets menu
2. Click the "send" button
3. Enter a username into the "To" box, a subject and a message
4. Click the "Send a Neomail" button and it's gone!




HOW TO OPEN A SHOP
1. Click "Shops" on the left-hand Neopets menu
2. Click on the "shops" icon (it's the second icon from the left on the horizontal bar)
3. Choose the "Create/Edit a Shop" link. Note it costs 250np to open a shop
4. You will need to enter the following: Shop Name, World, Description, Shop Keeper and Greeting. Once you have done this, click the button and you now have your own shop!


HOW TO BUY ITEMS
1. Firstly, you can either buy items from the main Neopian stores (cheap) or from other players stores (usually more expensive). You need to have a fast computer and quick reflexes to get things out of the main Neopian stores so we'll concentrate on other people's stores
2. In order to find the cheapest item, you'll want to use the "shop wizard" This is the blue tent looking thing on the horizontal menu. Click on him.
3. Type in the item you're looking for. For example, Tomato. He will return a list of people who are selling Tomatoes and for how much. There are several lists, so refresh a few times and note the cheapest.
4. To buy the item, simply click on the person's name (which will take you to their shop) then click on the item you want to buy. A box will pop up asking if you're sure, check the details are correct and click "OK" The item is now yours, and the Neopoints are the owner's.


HOW TO SELL YOUR ITEMS
1. Click on the first icon on the horizontal menu bar (an icecream-cookie). This will take you to your inventory
2. Click on the item you want to put in your shop. A screen will pop up with a drop-down menu. Choose "Put in Shop"
3. Once you've done this with all the items, click on the "shop icon" on the top menu bar (second from the left)
4. A screen will come up showing you everything you have in your shop. Just type in the prices you want to sell each item for, then click the button at the bottom. Viola!




HOW TO CREATE A NEOPET
1. Click on the "Create a Pet" button on the left-hand main Neopets menu.
2. Follow the steps to create your pet. Be sure to complete the whole process or your pet will not be properly born.


HOW TO FEED YOUR NEOPET
1. Click on the first icon on the horizontal menu bar, this will take you to your inventory.
2. Click on the item you want to feed to your pet. This will open a pop-up window.
3. From the drop-down list, choose "Feed to..." whichever pet you want to feed.

HOW TO BID FOR AN ITEM IN THE AUCTION
1) Click the item you wish to bid on or search for it with the auction genie. 
2) The auction may be closed, (times up), if it is it will say "This auction is closed, you cannot place any more bids!"
3) If it is not closed, go to the bottom of the page, and put in how much you want to bid on it for. (up to 1000nps more than the number already there)
4) Keep checking back so you will be the last person until time is up. 
5) You will not get the item right away. You will have to wait a while.
6) If you are not the last person, you wont lose any NPs but you will have to search again.

HOW TO CREATE A NEOHOME

1. First off you need to go to pet central (button on left-hand menu)
2. Near the top of the screen there is an area where you can go to different places. To the right of the 'your items' slot there is a neohome sign, click on it.
3. At the top of the screen there is some selections that you can make. Click on the one that says 'my neohome'.
4. You will come to a place that says that you do not have a neohome. Click on the bar that allows you to make one.
5. It will take about a day for your neohome application to be accepted. but when it is you will go back the 'my neohome'. Click on it and you will come up to a screen that has a bunch of dirt on it. Click on one of the boxes and a room will be made their.
6. Select the # of doors that you want and the material that you want to use. it will take approximately 4 hours for it to be built. You can keep coming back and put in more rooms.
